WICHITA, KS - Results have been announced for the 2009 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Championship meet, hosted by Friends University and held at
Lake Afton Park in Goddard, southwest of Wichita.
All nine KCAC men's teams finished the race - with at least five individual runners finishing.
Coach Jim Helmer of Southwestern College was named the KCAC men's cross-country coach of the year.
Southwestern College won the event with a total of 30 points. Kansas Wesleyan University finished in second with 41 points. Friends University rounded out the top three with 78 points. For full team results,

Andrew Topham from Southwestern College is the KCAC Runner of the Year, finishing first in the event with a time of 25:07.
In the KCAC, the top ten finishers are the All-Conference Runners and 11th through 15th are All-Conference Honorable Mention.

The KCAC champion men's teams, along with the top 5 individuals not on the winning team, qualify for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 53rd Annual Men's Cross Country National Championships to be held Saturday, November 21, at Fort Vancouver Historical Site, Vancouver, Washington - hosted by Cascade Collegiate Conference and by Concordia University (Oregon).
Southwestern College will represent the KCAC at the national meet along with Matt Ditzler and Dan Neidlinger from Friends University, and Ernest Cruz, Nathan Mesta, and Jeremy Davies from Kansas Wesleyan University.
