LINDSBORG, KS- Senior outfielder Daryl Schlepp accomplished the unusual feat of hitting for the cycle during the Swede's March 1 win over Morningside College. Schlepp, Eastlake, Wash., was four for six, hitting a single, double, triple and a home run. He had four runs and four RBIs.

Schlepp, who bats second for the Swedes, claimed his double in the first inning followed by a triple in the third, a home run in the fifth and a single in the ninth inning.

The Swedes defeated Morningside 12-11.

There are only 288 occurrences of players hitting for the cycle in Major League Baseball. According to Wikipedia, "The feat is rare in Major League Baseball as it requires a game of no fewer than four hits, and the unusual combination of a home run, which requires a batter to hit for some power, and a triple, which requires a batter to have speed on the base paths and a favorable fall of the ball. A natural cycle is when a batter's hits occur in order from single to home run.

There have been two other Swede baseball players who have hit for the cycle in the past six seasons.
