WICHITA, KS - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has announced this week's Baseball Players of the Week. The KCAC Position Player of the Week is Josh Strum from Ottawa University. The KCAC Pitcher of the Week is Gustavo Sanchez also from Ottawa University.
 

Josh StrumJosh Strum is a 5'9" junior first baseman for Ottawa University from Topeka, Kansas. In 4 games this week, Strum went 10 for 17 from the plate for a 0.588 batting average with 1 double and 1 base on balls. Strum also scored a run and had 5 RBI's. Strum's best game this week came in a 4 to 3 loss against MidAmerica Nazarene University. In the game, Strum went 5 for 5 a double and 2 RBI's.

                   
Gustavo SanchezGustavo Sanchez is a 6'1" junior pitcher for Ottawa University from Carabobo, Venezuela. Sanchez pitched in 2 games this week going 1-1 on the week. Gustavo pitched 8.1 innings, allowed 7 hits, 2 earned runs, stuck out 10 batters while only walking 2, and had a 2.16 ERA. In his best game of the week, Sanchez pitched 7 innings, struck out 8 batters and only allowed one earned run in a win against Central Christian College.
 
Ottawa University went 3-2 on the week and is 7-6 overall.
