DECATUR, Ala. - The Lady Braves fell 3-0 to no. 10 Shorter College (Ga.) on Saturday evening in their second game of the NAIA Softball National Championships held at Wilson Morgan Sports Complex.
The Hawks struck first with one run in the top of the second inning. The score stayed the same until the fifth inning when Shorter scored one more. SC pushed one more run across in the top of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead. The Lady Braves offense came to life in the bottom of the seventh and had the bases loaded but was not able to score, falling 3-0.
Erin Michael continued to hit the ball well for the Braves going 2-for-3 and now is 5-for-6 for the tournament. Myah Sprew and Ashley Mundy had the other two hits for the Lady Braves. Ashley Renaldi (9-3) pitched five innings, striking out one in the loss.
The Lady Braves (27-9) will play MidAmerica Nazarene University on Monday at 9:00 a.m. in their third game of the national tournament.
