WICHITA, Kan. - The NAIA has announced that 80 men's tennis players have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. The KCAC had 8 Scholar-Athletes named, representing 10% of the honorees. The 8 KCAC Scholar-Athletes represented 4 of the 10 KCAC institutions.


Friends University had 4 Scholar-Athletes this year. Only one other NAIA school, Azusa Pacific University of California, topped Friends with 5. Additionally, only one other NAIA school, Indiana Institute of Technology, matched Friends with 4 Scholar-Athletes.

 

In order to be a Scholar-Athlete, a student must be nominated by their institution's head coach, must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
