DECATUR, Ala. - The Lady Braves fell 6-4 to MidAmerica Nazarene University on Monday morning in their third and final game of the 2010 NAIA Softball National Tournament. OU had a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning but was not able to hold it as the Pioneers scored four runs in the sixth.
DECATUR, Ala. - The Lady Braves fell 6-4 to MidAmerica Nazarene University on Monday morning in their third and final game of the 2010 NAIA Softball National Tournament. OU had a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning but was not able to hold it as the Pioneers scored four runs in the sixth.

OU opened the game with a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Lindsey Tuter got on base on a walk and scored on a single by Ashley Mundy. The Lady Braves continued with the hot bats and scored three runs in the top of the second, taking a 4-0 lead on MNU.

The Pioneers started to chip away at the OU lead and scored one run in the bottom of the second inning. MNU's Emily True cut OU's lead to two, 4-2 with a homerun over the left field fence on a 1-2 count. The score stayed at 4-2 until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Pioneers scored four straight runs. 

In the top of the seventh OU's Lindsey Tuter hit a triple to right field but OU was not able to get her home, falling to MNU 6-4. 

Tuter led OU's offense with two hits in three at bats. She scored one run, had two RBI and one stolen base. Morgan Beckler (14-3)  pitched five innings in the loss, strking out two and only allowing two hits. 

The Lady Braves finish the season with a 27-10 overall record and a 15-1 record in the KCAC. OU won its first KCAC Tournament title and appeared in the national tournament for the second time in school history. The Lady Braves will lose four seniors from this year''s team, Lori Ewalt, Erin Michael, Kadie Berlin and Ashley Mundy. Overall the senior class leaves with a record of 109-65, one KCAC title, one KCAC Tournament title and one NAiA National Tournament appearance.
