Cleveland, Ohio – As all fall NAIA championships have been competed and the season comes to a close, the final fall standings for the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup have been announced. Four KCAC members were listed in the top 75 of the Directors' Cup standings, which were released Thursday, December 22 by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup honors institutions maintaining a broad-based athletic program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's. Starting in 1993-94 for Division I by NACDA and USA Today, it was expanded in 1995-96 to include Division II, III and the NAIA.
Institutions earn points for the success of their athletic teams in postseason play. The overall points leader will be crowned champion for having the highest amount of points in their division.
In the NAIA division for the Directors' Cup, 12 sports are counted through out the year. For the fall, men's cross-country, women's cross country, football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, and women's soccer are scored.
