Salina, Kan. – Corey Smith, a 6-6 Junior Forward for the Ottawa University Braves, reached his 1,000th career point on Wednesday Night against Kansas Wesleyan.

  

A basket at the 13:38 mark in the first half gave Smith 1,000 points for his career, making him the 22nd Brave to reach that milestone. The Burlington, Kansas native and three-year OU Starter, finished with 23 points in the game and 1,017 for his career.

   

2011 – 2012

 

This season Smith is second in the KCAC in points (17.37) and rebounds (7.26) per game as well as free throw shooting (98/118, 83%).  He has five double-doubles on the season.

 

2010 – 2011

 

Smith appeared in 28 games, making 26 starts on his way to earning Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors. He was also named to the KCAC Men's Basketball Champions of Character Team. Smith averaged 13.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during his sophomore season.

 

2009 – 2010

 

In his first season as a Brave, Smith played in 29 games and started 24 on his way to earning All-KCAC Freshman team honors. He averaged 10.7 points, which led the team, and 5.2 rebounds per game. Smith shot 41.7% from the floor, 37% from the three-point line, and 77% from the free throw line.
