Wichita, Kan. – Corey Smith of Ottawa University is the KCAC men's basketball player of the week.  The 6-6 Junior Forward from Burlington, Kansas scored 36 and grabbed 22 rebounds in two KCAC games this week as the Braves improve their conference record to 5-5.

  

Ottawa defeated Kansas Wesleyan University on January 18th, 92 to 85. Smith scored 23 points and recorded 12 rebounds in 35 minutes of play. During the game, Smith scored his 1,000th career point. He is the 22nd Brave to reach that mark.

 

Smith recorded his second double double of the week against Friends University on January 21st. The Braves won 82 to 69 over the Falcons. Smith scored 13 and had 10 rebounds in the contest.

 

During the two-game stretch Smith averaged 18 PPG and 11 RBP while shooting 0.500 (14-28) from the field and 1.000 (7-7) from the line.
