Wichita, Kan. – Tabor College travels to Kansas Wesleyan for the eighth KCAC Game of the Week this season. The January 28th conference matchup will be broadcast on KGSO 1410 AM,Tip-off is 7:00 PM.
Tabor is 3 and 3 in January, with their last win coming at home against #14 Southwestern College on Saturday January 21st. Despite the losing record, the Bluejays are averaging 3.1 more points per game on offense than they allow on defense. They also hold among the top three KCAC teams in Turnover Margin (+2.5), Free Throw Shooting (0.733), and 3PT offense (173, 8.24/game).
Statistically speaking there is no outright leader on the Bluejays. Joe Penn, Senior Guard, leads the team in scoring with 281 points (13.4 PPG). Kyle Wallace, Senior Guard, is leading the team and KCAC in assists, he averages 4.7 per game. Lawson Kingsley, Junior Guard, is the team's biggest 3PT threat and he also leads the team in steals (29). Ryan Chippeaux, Junior Forward, leads the team and is fourth in the KCAC in rebounds per game (7.14).
Kansas Wesleyan is still on the hunt for their first conference victory the year. The Coyotes are a young team (6 freshman, 1 senior) with a short bench and a first year head coach in Chris Fear. Before Kansas Wesleyan, Fear was most recently at Midland University in Fremont, Neb., where he served as an assistant coach after spending the previous ten seasons at Dana College in Blair, Neb.
Dylan Briscoe, Junior Guard leads the Coyotes on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 10.6 PPG. Briscoe is third in the KCAC in 3PT/game with 2.6. Ty Dean, Freshman Forward is the team's leading rebounder. Dean is the only Freshman in the KCAC on both the top 20 rebounds (20th) and top 20 blocks (10th) lists.
