Wichita, Kan. – Sophomore Christine Sheppard (Wichita, Kan.) of Southwestern College is awarded KCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week and Sophomore Erin Bradley (Newton, Kan.) of Bethel College is awarded KCAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week following their performances for the week of April 23-29.
Sheppard competed in four events at the Southwestern Relays, the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay. She won the 100m with the second fastest time in her career 12.52 and placed first in the 200m with the fastest time of her career 25.48. She was the anchor in the 4x100m relay to help the team to a second place finish and a season best time of 49.85. To cap off the evening she lead the 4x400 to a second place finish with a 4:15.04 time. Sheppard leads the KCAC in the 100m and 200m.
Bradley threw a season best 44.25m in the Discus at the Southwestern Relays. With the mark she finished 1st out of 26 competitors. She currently holds the best throw in the KCAC and ranks 6th in the NAIA. Bradley also finished 10th, in the Shot Put, out of 21 competitors with a throw of 11.11m. Bradley's throw qualifies her for the NAIA Outdoor Championship for the Discus under the "A" standard (43.50m).
