Ryin Brandt

Wichita, Kan. – Ryin Brandt of Ottawa University has been selected as KCAC Men's Track Athlete of the week and Jeremiah Gerardy of Bethany College have been named KCAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. Both athletes competed in the Iowa State Open on January 18 and 19.


Brandt, a Junior from Paola, Kansas highlighted Ottawa's finishers at the Iowa State Open. Brandt finished fourth place in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.41m (14-05.5), which he successfully cleared on his first attempt.


Gerardy, a Sophomore from Maquoketa, Iowa finished first of 33 Non-Seeded runners in the 3,000m run at the Iowa State Open. The time of 8:52.76 gave Gerardy the 12th fastest time of the meet and a Bethany College School Record.

Sports Information Directors of the KCAC have to opportunity to nominate one male and one female track athlete along with one male and one female field athlete during for Player of the Week.  This week, no female athletes were nominated for awards.
