Wichita, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce IMA, Inc. as its newest corporate sponsor. IMA will be the Presenting Sponsor of the All-KCAC Champions of Character Awards Program throughout the 2013 calendar year. These co-branded Champions of Character recognitions will begin at the upcoming Second Annual KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 8th & 9th in Manhattan, Kansas and continue until the completion of the Fall 2013 semester.
"IMA is proud to participate in the recognition of over 175 student-athletes that exemplify the highest integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership. IMA strives to ‘Protect Assets and Make a Difference,' and we appreciate these student-athletes as Champions of Character for the positive difference they have made in their school communities and the lives of others," stated Blake Wells, IMA Vice President.
This new arrangement with IMA also has a net, positive effect on the KCAC's annual Football and Men's & Women's Basketball Media Days. IMA will be the primary financial supporter for these two events scheduled to be moved to the Courtyard Wichita at Old Town. Specific dates and times are TBA.
"For several years now, the KCAC and its member institutions have worked with IMA, Inc. on several fronts. This new formal partnership is a tribute to the commitment between IMA and the KCAC for this year and for years to come," indicated KCAC commissioner, Dr. Scott Crawford.
He added, "I appreciate all that IMA has done for the conference membership. IMA represents the core values of the Champions of Character program. We value this opportunity to work together in recognizing the outstanding efforts of these deserving young men and women."
About All-KCAC Champions of Character Awards Program
The All-KCAC Champion of Character Award recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated the five core Champion of Character values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership in their approach to life, the classroom, and the field of play. The KCAC recognizes one student-athlete on every team throughout 19 conference-sponsored sports. Additionally, the Champion of Character Student-Athlete of the Year will be presented to one male student-athlete and one female student-athlete during the KCAC Sport Management Conference. This year's honors will be awarded August 6, 2013 at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.
