WINFIELD – Kansas Wesleyan University ’s Sarah Williams and Jolene Mick have qualified for the 2008 NAIA Outdoor Track National Championships in the 10,000 meters at the Southwestern College invite on March 13.

Mick won the event with a 38:27.33, hitting the NAIA A-Standard for nationals qualifying. Mick also shattered the meet record for the event by over a minute. The old record of 39:34.71 was set last year by Oklahoma Christian’s Heather Ray.

Williams finished in third, running a 39:17.66, hitting the NAIA B-Standard.

The NAIA “A” Standard is 38:45.35 and the “B” Standard is 39:25.00.

The 2008 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are May 22 – 24 at Ralph Korte Stadium in St. Louis , Mo.
