MCPHERSON, KS - The McPherson College women's soccer team was recently named a NAIA scholar team for the 2008-2009 school year.

The Lady Bulldogs had a team GPA of 3.31 for the 2007-2008 school year under coaches Robert Talley and Doug Quint.

"I'm very pleased with the team's performance in the classroom this year," said McPherson College coach Robert Talley.  "This season was a memorable season for the women's soccer team setting new school records for individual and team performances."

"Receiving this award demonstrates the women's commitment to succeed both on and off the field. This is the first national recognition the team's received for their academics and it's an honor that all of the ladies should be proud of."

Teams compiling a cumulative team grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and submitted by the head coach were recognized.
