SALINA, KS - Salina's All-Star Lanes was alive with excitement as the Kansas Wesleyan Football team teamed up with Big Brothers and Big Brothers of Salina for "Bowl with a Coyote" on Friday afternoon.

Approximately 40 KWU football players team up with nearly 35 youngsters involved in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters event.

"I think that helping out with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters bowling is good for both of us," said KWU wide receiver Jason Dolan. "It's about the kids and having fun. It's great for them to have somebody to have fun with and look up to."

Dolan also added that it is good for the Wesleyan football players as well, to get out the routine of football for a while and be able to refocus.

"It's good for us because we are getting out of our element a little bit as well as getting out and having fun with the kids. It's a win-win situation."

Senior slot receiver Steven Valliere echoed Dolan's thoughts on the day.

"This is my second year helping out with the program," Valliere said. "I came back out here this year because I had such a great time last year, and the kinds love hanging out with the athletes. It feels good to hang out with these kids and be a role model for them."

"Bowl with a Coyote" is just one of many community service projects that the KWU Football team involves itself with during the year.
