JUNCTION CITY, KS - On Saturday afternoon, Perry Sharp passed away ending his long battle with leukemia. Sharp had served the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference most recently as the Assignor of Men's Basketball Officials, but was also well known for his service as a basketball official in the conference as well.
Funeral services for Perry David Sharp, Jr., 46, of Milford, KS will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Junction City High School Shenk Gym with Father Dale Plummer officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Cremation will take place following the services on Thursday. Mr. Sharp passed away at Geary Community Hospital on February 28, 2009.

Pallbearers will be B J Moore, Rodney Dickens, Rodney Palen, Michael Oplotnik, Rick O'Neil and John Simmons. Guys you will need to be in Junction City no later than 1:45 to get any instructions from the funeral director.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Kansas Collegiate Officials Association and Meredith Grusing, Ed Egan, Monty Applebee, Mike Santilli, Kurt McAfee, Mark Goodheart, Bennie Lee and Danny Brewer.
In honor and recognition of Perry Sharp's service to the KCAC, the conference will participate in a moment of silence prior to the tipoff of the Men's Basketball Championship Final at Kansas Wesleyan University Monday evening and the tipoff of the Women's Basketball Championship Final at Sterling College on Tuesday evening.
