WICHITA, KS - Bethel College lost in the opening round of the 2009 NAIA Women's Tennis National Tournament on Tuesday, May 12. 

Bethel College was defeated by Brenau University at Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.  Brenau University will advance to compete against Azusa Pacific University.

The Threshers were the regular season runner up in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference this season.  Their defeat of Bethany College, the regular season champions, in the KCAC Women's Tennis Tournament last week allowed Bethel College to receive the automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Tennis National Tournament.
