KANSAS CITY, MO - The NAIA has released the 2009 Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove winners and Kansas Wesleyan third baseman Mike Pettibone was selected as the national winner at that position.
This is the third year that the NAIA has named a Gold Glove team, and it is the first time any player from the Kansas Conference has won the award.
Pettibone, a senior from Gilbert, Ariz., was exceptional at third base for the Coyotes this year. In 156 total chances, he only committed five errors. He also was a part of 10 double plays for the Coyotes this year. During KCAC play, Pettibone did not commit an error, en route to earning the KCAC Gold Glove at third base.
